From the era when almost every vascular lesion was simply called a “hemangioma” to a modern, individualized approach based on anatomy, imaging and pathophysiology, this lecture follows how the management of vascular anomalies has changed.
Through numerous pediatric cases, the speaker discusses capillary, venous and lymphatic malformations, residual changes after infantile hemangiomas, facial involvement, tissue overgrowth and complex syndromic presentations. The cases highlight practical decisions around MRI and angiography, laser treatment, surgery and tissue expansion — including an interesting comparison of external and integrated tissue-expander valves based on real surgical experience.
