What does successful limb salvage really mean when bone, vessels, nerves and soft tissue are all severely damaged? In this lecture, a Level 1 trauma center surgeon walks through complex lower-extremity cases involving crush injuries, Gustilo IIIB/IIIC fractures, chronic osteomyelitis, infections, oncologic defects and battlefield trauma.

The discussion moves from the MESS score and the classic reconstructive ladder to a more patient-specific approach.
